Knuckles Ring Star (Chaotix Beta)
In an early stage of development, Knuckles' Chaotix was called Knuckles Ring Star. This screenshot of a Zone title card provides evidence of this.

It seems Knuckles Ring Star also had another name:
Chaotix Starring Espio the Chameleon.

Clearly it was Espio who was originally to be the star of the game, not Knuckles.
