These screenshots are from Sega Saturn Magazine. The player position icons are different from the final version, and the sky is orange instead of blue. The PC version of Sonic R has a feature which allows you to play a level at different times of the day, like sunset, for example. This feature isn't present in the Saturn version, so you can only play on Resort Island with a nice blue sky.
