Somari is an interesting little game from Hong Kong. You play as Mario in some fairly good recreations of Sonic levels. The music is surprisingly accurate too.

I found this title screen graphic while browsing in Tile Layer Pro. It clearly says MARIO instead of SOMARI.

Green Hill Zone. The loops actually work.

Scrap Brain Zone. This level is unfinished, and can only be accessed by savestate hacking.

Final Zone. After you beat Robotnik, the game freezes on a black screen. There's no ending sequence, which annoyed me.

The Special Zone. A recreation of the 8-bit Sonic 1's bonus stage, including the music.
