Sonic X - Episode 3Transcript:
"Dr. Eggman's Ambition"

TAILS:
I'm Tails. Sonic and I are always together. Right Sonic?

SONIC:
I suppose.

CREAM:
I'm Cream. And this is my friend, Cheese. Pleased to meet you.

CHRIS:
Well, I'm pleased to meet you too. It looks like we can be good friends. And, this is my grandfather.

CHUCK:
Amazing. I've never seen such tiny radio-controlled airplanes.

TAILS:
They're really nothing special.

CHRIS:
But, that was really crazy! You went up against the army! That might've turned into a war!

SONIC:
Well, what are you gonna do?

CHRIS:
That's not really what I was saying.

CHUCK:
Now, this is really something! Where did you get this kind of science and technology?

TAILS:
"Where?" I can only tell you that it's from my world.

CHUCK:
And that world is -- where?

TAILS:
Hmm..where...space-time was distorted and we were brought to this world. Hey Sonic, who was involved in the accident? You, me, Cream and Cheese were there. Do you think everyone else might have come to this world too?

SONIC:
Well, there was Knuckles, Amy, and...

Meanwhile, at Eggman's base. Eggman is watching the ocean on a TV screen.

EGGMAN:
So I came to this world thanks to the Chaos Control. Well, that's fine. I'll build the foundation of the Eggman Empire on this world. And then expand my territory to other worlds!

Episode 3:
Dr. Eggman's Ambition

Eggman looks at an image of Station Square on his screen.

EGGMAN:
I believe I'll take this city...

Decoe arrives carrying a tray of cards.

DECOE:
Which one will it be?

EGGMAN:
Which, which? Mmm...which one will it be?

He puts a stack of cards in a slot machine and pulls a lever.

Here!

An image of the E-23 appears.

Bingo! Definitely this one!

Meanwhile, in the sewers...

KNUCKLES:
This is all because of Sonic!

AMY:
It's a misunderstanding, Knuckles. Eggman being in this place...

KNUCKLES:
No! If it weren't for Sonic's nonsense then we wouldn't be here.

AMY:
How can you just decide that?!

KNUCKLES:
Because these things happen everytime! Am I wrong?

AMY:
The way you blame Sonic for everything is what I hate about you the most!

KNUCKLES:
It's fine if you hate me.

AMY:
W-wait! You'd leave me in here?

KNUCKLES:
Coming along with someone you hate?

AMY:
Geez! He's so stubborn! Wait up, Knuckles!!

At Emerald Coast, someone hits a beachball into the sea. A girl runs to fetch it.

GIRL IN WATER:
Aww, you hit it too hard...

Before she gets the chance to pick up the ball, the robot appears from under the water. It destroys a hut and a row of parked cars. People scream and run away.

EGGMAN:
Go, E-23! Show them more of Dr. Eggman's power!!

Chris' house. Tails is spraying the Tornado with a hose.

TAILS:
Heehee, it's sparkling!

CHUCK:
Keep spraying and it'll sparkle even more!

Cream and Cheese are eating something.

CREAM:
Is is delicious?

CHEESE:
Chao, chao.

CREAM:
I'm so glad!

CHRIS:
Tails!!

TAILS:
What is it?

CHRIS:
Where's Sonic?

CREAM:
Mr. Sonic said he was going for a little walk.

CHRIS:
I told him it would be hard to find him if he left the house...

TAILS:
Will it really be hard to find him?

CHRIS:
I don't know, but...

TAILS:
In any case, do you need him to do something?

CHRIS:
There's big trouble! Now I'm serious!!

Back in the city, E-23 is smashing things.

POLICEMAN:
Stop!! If you won't stop then we'll have to open fire!

The robot doesn't stop.

Fire!!

The police shoot at E-23, but the bullets do nothing. Eggman is hovering overhead.

EGGMAN:

One of the police uses a flamethrower, setting the robot on fire.

POLICEMAN:
We did it?

The robot is undamaged.

EGGMAN:
Fools! Do you think those are strong enough? Who's the one giving orders?

POLICEMAN:
It's me...

EGGMAN:
Well then, use him as an example!

Meanwhile, Tails is flying over the city in the Tornado.

TAILS:
Sonic...where could he have gone?

Chris and Chuck are on the ground.

CHRIS:
SONIC! SONIC!! Where are you?? Answer if you're here!! SONIC!!!

CHUCK:
Seems he's not around here. Let's look someplace else.

CHRIS:
Yeah.

In the mountains, Sonic is standing looking at the view, then starts to run down the side of a mountain. Meanwhile, Amy and Knuckles are still in the sewer.

AMY:
Say, could we take a little rest?

KNUCKLES:
It's all right if you don't want to follow me.

AMY (to herself):
But I'd worry more with Knuckles on his own...

AMY:
Say, do you think we can get back to the world we came from?

KNUCKLES:
I don't think we're going back, we ARE going back!

AMY:
Why is that?

KNUCKLES:
That's what I'm looking for. In any case...

Flashback to Knuckles sitting in front of the Master Emerald on the Floating Island.

KNUCKLES (voiceover):
If I can't go back, I won't be able to go there. Because I... must protect it. Better to die then not be able to do my job! That's why I don't have the time to linger around in this place.

They hear a rumbling sound coming from the street above.

What's that?

Amy and Knuckles climb out of the sewer and see the E-23 walking down the street. It smashes through the front of a building. People inside the building flee.

EGGMAN:
E-23, get on the rooftop.

E-23:
Roger.

The robot launches its arm through the ceiling and pulls itself up onto the roof.

Going up.

EGGMAN:
Well now, let's start with my greeting.

Eggman presses a button and his hologram appears. He also appears on every TV screen in the city.

Everyone listen well to this! My name is Dr. Eggman. The true form of genius. Right now I hope you all notice me via Eggman Network. As of now, this entire world belongs to Dr. Eggman.

Chris' house.

TAILS:
Dr. Eggman!

Station Square.

POLICE CHIEF:
Is that robot yours!?

EGGMAN:
That's correct.

POLICE CHIEF:
Then hurry up and get your robot out of the way! It could hit a plane!

EGGMAN:
Then hand over this city to me!

POLICE CHIEF:
What? What do you mean by that?

EGGMAN:
This is what I mean...

Eggman snaps his fingers. E-23 fires its arm from the roof, destroying a police car.

Hand over the city!

POLICE CHIEF:
I'm done here... Get the mayor...

EGGMAN:
Then... your mayor will be me!

In front of Chris' house, Tails is sitting in the Tornado.

TAILS:
Chris, hurry up!

Chris runs out of the garage (wearing one of those American football helmets) and gets in the plane.

CHRIS:
Sorry, sorry!

CHUCK:
Take care of Chris, Tails!

TAILS:
Leave it to me!

CHRIS:
If Sonic returns, let us know!

CREAM:
Of course!

TAILS:
Then, let's go!

They fly away in the Tornado. In Station Square...

EGGMAN:
Eh? So what's your answer?

MAYOR:
Dr. Eggman! We will not be ordered around by you!

EGGMAN:
Wrong!

Eggman snaps his fingers and E-23 punches a large hole in a building.

How's that? Have I changed your mind?

MAYOR:
That's the decision of our leader, no, our president.

EGGMAN:
(sighs) E-23, be thorough...

TAILS:
Stop it, Dr. Eggman!!

Tails swoops at Dr. Eggman in the Tornado.

EGGMAN:
Tails is here, so Sonic must be with him too! E-23, take care of those obstacles!

E-23:
Roger

The E-23 launches both its arms at the Tornado, narrowly missing.

CHRIS:
AHH! He's got us in his sight!

TAILS:
All right! This time, we've got him!

Tails uses the Tornado's machine guns, but they have no effect.

Damn, the attack didn't work!

CHRIS:
Tails! Below!!!

E-23 smashes the Tornado's propellor, causing it to plummet to the ground.

TAILS:
AHHHHH!!! WE LOST THE PROPELLER!!!

Tails pulls a lever, and the Tornado transforms into a jet.

But it's okay!

Amy and Knuckles are watching the action from the ground.

AMY:
Isn't that Tails? Say, aren't you going to help him?

KNUCKLES:
It's his concern, isn't it?

AMY:
Knuckles, you idiot!

Amy walks into the building through a hole in the wall.

KNUCKLES:
Hey! Amy! (to himself) Really, she always needs to be looked after!

He runs after her as she walks into an elevator.

KNUCKLES:
Amy!! Wait up!!

The elevator door closes just as he gets there.

Shit! Each and every time!!

Sonic arrives back in the city. He notices a crowd of people around a TV shop, so he jumps into a tree to see what they're looking at. Eggman is on the TV screens, as well as footage of Tails and Chris in the Tornado.

SONIC:
Eggman! That guy's here too? This should be interesting, I guess!

Knuckles arrives on the roof, after running up the stairs. The robot is still attacking the Tornado.

KNUCKLES:
So that's it? I'll teach it a lesson!

Amy steps out of the elevator.

You're slow, Amy!

AMY:
YOU!!! DON'T YOU BULLY TAILS!!

KNUCKLES:
STOP, AMY!!!

Amy hits the robot on the leg with her hammer. It does no damage.

AMY:
Owww...

E-23 grabs Amy.

KNUCKLES:
LET AMY GO!!!

EGGMAN:
Wait, Knuckles.

Knuckles stops.

Or his hand will squeeze a little bit more...

AMY:
NOOOOO!! OWWWW!!

Meanwhile, on the edge of the city, Sonic is running along a road.

SONIC:
If I don't hurry, I'll miss all the fun!!

Back on the rooftop, E-23 has Amy as a hostage.

KNUCKLES:
You coward! LET AMY GO!!

EGGMAN:
Coward? I'm only holding the girl to protect E-23! He's not here! There's still that hedgehog...

TAILS:
Sonic still hasn't come...

Chris looks across the city and sees Sonic, blurry with speed, running towards the building.

CHRIS:
It's Sonic! Sonic is coming!!

EGGMAN:
What??

CHRIS:
Sonic!!

Chris passes a glowing ring to Sonic.

SONIC:
Thank you!

EGGMAN:
Come on! E-23!

E-23 throws Amy away, but Knuckles catches her. Sonic is glowing with ring energy.

SONIC:
All right!!

Sonic begins to spin rapidly.

EGGMAN:
FIRE!!!

The robot launches missiles towards Sonic. There's a large explosion.

All right!!

Sonic passes through the explosion and flies up into the air.

Above!!!

E-23 fires its arms at Sonic, but he jumps over them, mocking Eggman.

SONIC:
Come on, come on!!

EGGMAN:
You bastard!! You're making fun of me!!

KNUCKLES:
Sonic!!! It's about time you started to attack!!

SONIC:
Okay!!

Sonic stands on one of E-23's arms. It tries to hit Sonic with its other arm, but ends up smashing its own arm.

See ya!!

EGGMAN:
FIRE!!!

E-23 fires several more missiles, which converge on Sonic and all explode at once.

I did it!!!

Sonic emerges from the explosion unharmed.

SONIC:
Time to take you out!!

Sonic lands on E-23, causing it to explode.

CHRIS:
WE DID IT!!!

Eggman emerges from a cloud of smoke, covered in soot.

SONIC:
What are you gonna do?

EGGMAN:
Y-you bastard... Sonic... Our battle isn't over yet!!!

He flies away.

AMY:
SONIC!! I'm so glad to meet up with you!!

Amy hugs Sonic tightly.

SONIC:
H-Hey!

AMY:
I really thought that I wouldn't see you again!!

SONIC:
Hey... that hurts...

The police arrive on the roof, pointing guns at Sonic, Amy and Knuckles.

POLICE:
Raise your hands!!

KNUCKLES:
What do you want?

POLICE:
Just do as we say!

KNUCKLES:
You guys are pretty rude, aren't you!!

POLICE:
W-what are you doing?

Tails passes Sonic a rope ladder from the Tornado.

TAILS:
SONIC!! Catch this!!

Sonic and Amy hang onto the ladder. Knuckles doesn't move.

SONIC:
Knuckles...HEY!!

AMY:
Knuckles...HURRY!!

Knuckles starts to run...

POLICE:
FIRE!!!

The police fire at Knuckles. He jumps off the side of the building and grabs the rope ladder. The Tornado flies away.

CHRIS:
Let's go back to my house!

TAILS:
Cream and Cheese are waiting for us!

AMY:
Eh, really? Everyone will be together again!

KNUCKLES:
Sorry, but I have my own things to do!

Knuckles lets go of the ladder and glides away.

AMY:
Knuckles!

KNUCKLES:
FAREWELL!!

AMY:
Knuckles... why...

SONIC:
Because he's got his own mission to fulfill.

They all fly away into the sunset.

Tabidatsu junbi wa dekita kai....
